Clearly it's my passing out which is doing it. Worked for the Hitmen again last night, ha!
I spent most of Tuesday's game dead asleep (not my choice, darn this flu), and that seems to have clinched things. I'm told that the game was probably more enjoyable that way, especially via radio.
There's some definite positives to take from last game. A strong showing by Kipper is probably the most notable. There were times when I was conscious enough to take in the play-by-play, and just think, for any random shot, "I don't think that's going in." And ha! I was right all of the time Tuesday night despite being drugged up to the gills and semi-conscious. What else? I'm liking the pairing of Warrener and Hale a lot. I don't know what it is, but Warrener seems to be struggling less with Hale around. Or maybe that "full-body injury" is healing.
Others have chimed in with negatives... but meh, it's been a downer of a week anyways off the ice. So get well soon ST and HG (how weird is it that we all make trips to sick bay this week?), and let's go for another road win...

how weird is it that we all make trips to sick bay this week?
ReplyDeleteI was starting to think that myself, actually.
Maybe we are like that ancient indian from the X-Files that would take on the ailments of others so that they could be healthy again...
ReplyDeleteMaybe we are doing that for our boys...
(I hope at least one person gets that reference, or I'll feel like a complete geek all by my lonesome)...
And this was in the Robert Patrick season at the end of the series (if that helps at all)...
Its looking like my eidetic memory is making look like a supernerd yet again...
ReplyDeleteCome on, anyone... The old indian creature swallows people whole and then throws a bunch of stuff up into a special human-shaped ditch. Where they are regenerated without their previous ailment...
Bueller... Bueller...
The creature uses its power to take away Robert Patrick's character's death (and thus accepting death for itself)...
Anyone... Anyone...
Sometimes I should just keep my mouth shut...
Crap...
The only just-as-geeky SF reference I can think of is Spock giving it up for the needs of the many...
ReplyDelete...not that I'm suggesting any of us need to undergo massive doses of radiation to stop things from going ka-boom.
Thanks Leanne, that helped a little...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and I only ever saw that X-files episode one time when it originally aired, which I just found out would have been over 7 years ago...
Seriously, a photographic memory is both a blessing and a curse...
I think you're talking about the Sin Eater episode there ST.
ReplyDeleteYes! I feel a little better now...
ReplyDeleteAnd it was only 6 years ago (not much of a difference really though)...
But the point of all that is that I think our group sickness may be helping the boys. Kind of like the more traditional sin-eater...
2 things:
ReplyDelete1. i have been coughing like crazy this week, for no apparent reason.
2. my negativity has been working like a charm. but with all this decent play, i'm not sure how i'm gonna keep it up much longer. which means we'll lose... (right ?).
:)
